Mary Wozniak of Yorkton passed away suddenly on June 12, 2015 in the Yorkton Regional Health Centre with her family by her side. Mary Elizabeth Wozniak was born on October 13, 1932 in Rockford, SK. She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Mary Saxon and her brothers Steve and Frank Saxon. Mary has two children, Debbie (Ron) Young and David (Mel) Wozniak. Also left to cherish her memory are her three grandchildren Dean (Chantelle) Young, Dawn (Drew) Ross and Ryan Young. Mary is also survived by her four great-grandchildren Austin, Shaylyn and Kaizer Young and Eberle Ross. Mary lived in Rockford and went to Stony Acres School. From there the family moved to Cana, then a year later settled near Waldron. Mary worked in the Canora Hospital and the Cameo Restaurant in Melville, where she met Bernard Wozniak. Mary and Bernard were married at St. Henry's Roman Catholic Church on October 21, 1958 and they lived on the family farm. They worked hard side by side on the farm, while raising two children, Debbie and David. The two left the farm on October 31,1997 and moved to Yorkton. Mary enjoyed various activities including listening to old-time music, playing cards, having coffee with friends, gardening, dancing and fishing. Mary will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A vigil service for Mary was held June 17, 2015 at St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church, Yorkton with the Rev. Fr. Francis Hengen presiding and Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 18, 2015 at St. Gerard's Church with Fr. Hengen celebrating. Interment took place in St. Henry's Parish Cemetery, Melville. Arrangements were entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home, Melville.
