REGINA – The man at the centre of two attempted murders and leading police on a chase out of the city appeared in Regina Provincial Court again.
Tony Hudson, 54, is alleged to have run over a man and a woman with a truck, then driving over the woman again while fleeing police. EMS tended to the woman, who had stab wounds.
Remarkably, there were no serious injuries from the incident, nor when police shot at their suspect after commands to stop were ignored.
RPS members did manage to catch up to the vehicle north of Regina, arresting Hudson.
In a previous bail hearing on June 26, the Crown noted they were opposed to Hudson’s release from custody. He requested the assistance of a Legal Aid lawyer, and the matter was set to today for further proceedings.
In the interim, Hudson hired a private lawyer, who had just received the matter from Legal Aid and lacked much-needed disclosure.
Hudson appeared via video from the Regina Provincial Correctional Centre, and his lawyer appeared by phone in court this morning. Their request was that the matter be adjourned until Aug. 8, which Judge Murray Hinds obliged.
