Saskatoon shooting leads to arrests

Police found a 28-year-old man with a non-life-threatening injury consistent with a gunshot wound.

On Feb. 8, around 10:45 p.m., police were called to the 500 block of 20th Street West for a report of an injured person.

SASKATOON - Two people were arrested Wednesday night after a man was shot and injured. 

On Feb. 8, around 10:45 p.m., police were called to the 500 block of 20th Street West for a report of an injured person. Officers arrived to find a 28-year-old man with a non-life-threatening injury consistent with a gunshot wound.

The police investigation led them to an apartment unit in the 1700 block of 20th Street West where two suspects were located. Police found a sawed-off rifle and ammunition on them.

As a result, a 20-year-old Saskatoon man is facing several firearms-related charges in addition to aggravated assault. An 18-year-old Saskatoon woman also faces several firearms-related charges in addition to unlawful possession of a controlled substance. She was later charged with assaulting a police officer while being processed in detention. The officer did not sustain any serious injuries as a result.
