Trial adjourned for Unity man accused of making death threats

Patrick Schapansky was arrested after police received multiple 911 calls about a man threatening people.

NORTH BATTLEFORD – A trial for a 26-year-old Unity man accused of making death threats has been adjourned in North Battleford Provincial Court to July 31.

Patrick Schapansky's trial was scheduled for June 15 on charges of uttering death threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose [knife], criminal harassment, and mischief under $5,000 by interfering with the lawful enjoyment of property.

In September 2022, Cut Knife RCMP helped Unity RCMP arrest him after police had received multiple 911 calls about a man threatening people at a home in Unity and then going to homes of people he knew while police were searching for him.

The charges against Schapansky haven’t been tested in court.
