SASKATOON – A man charged with making restricted firearms with a 3D printer is headed to trial in a Saskatoon court.
Norasinh Phouikhounephinith, now 47, is charged with manufacturing firearms, possession of firearms for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of a prohibited device. His trial, which was set for Feb. 2, was adjourned to April 17.
Phouikhounephinith was arrested Jan. 26, 2022, after the Saskatoon Police Service Guns & Gangs Unit raided a home in the 200 block of 23rd Street East. Police seized several firearms, firearm parts and 3D printer components. The charges against him haven’t been tested in court.
Phouikhounephinith was granted bail Jan. 31, 2022.
