CUPE says police responses from 911 calls are delayed because there aren’t enough dispatchers to answer and coordinate responses.

The Weyburn Police Service responded to 70 calls for service for the week of March 3 - March 9, 2025.   

Shortly after 12 a.m. on March 11, police were called to the 200 block of 23rd Street East for a report of a man that was unconscious on a city bus; it was believed that he was under the influence of an intoxicant at the time.

Between Dec. 19, 2024, and Jan. 2, 2025, nine armed robberies and two attempted armed robberies were reported to police that were believed to be connected.

Minhaaz Ali and Christina McGillivray will have a preliminary hearing on drug charges.

At around 12:45 a.m. this morning, March 11, police were called to the 300 block of Avenue T South for a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.

At approximately 8:10 p.m. on March 8, police were called to the 1200 block of Junor Avenue for a report of an altercation.

On Feb. 16, a 71-year-old woman was robbed of her purse in the lobby of an apartment building in the 2500 block of Louise Street by an unknown man.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. on March 7, Community Safety Officers (CSO) from the Saskatoon Fire Department were patrolling downtown when they observed a man get bear sprayed outside of a mall in the 200 block of 1st Avenue South.
