BJORKDALE — Nellie from Prairie River reported that they had rain and "everyone is happy". Here we have had calcium chlorine spread at our approaches and we're ecstatic!
On June 21, my daughter Maureen and I attended the opening of the Indigenous Peoples and Archaeology Building in Melfort. One of the presentations was made by Niall Campbell from Bjorkdale who introduced the collection of his father, Archie Campbell. We visited the Museum where the collection is displayed and were deeply impressed. The family had exhibited many artifacts and had included a map showing where each was found, mostly in the Bjorkdale area.
On Monday, June 27, the Bjorkdale Community Choir entertained at Caleb Village in Tisdale. Included were many familiar selections, a couple of hymns and familiar closing items. There will be no practices during the summer, but we plan to begin again in the Fall with preparations for a Christmas program.
In the evening, on Tuesday, June 28, Tips by Tracy welcomed plant lovers to the Wapiti Library to sit in on an informative. Tracy gave us some pointers " ...to keep your plants happy and healthy through wind, rain, heat and drought." Numerous questions were answered, with follow-up information. You're never too old to learn as I did, such as that orchids like ice cubes and some humans like to eat fertilizer.
