MEADOW LAKE – A man considered armed and dangerous by RCMP when he was wanted made his first appearance in Meadow Lake Provincial Court Thursday.
In September, Meadow Lake RCMP released 32-year-old Dylan Lasas’ photo and warned the public not to approach him.
Meadow Lake RCMP say that they got a call about an assault in the Flotten Lake area on Aug. 31. Police say that two armed men committed the assault and a firearm was discharged in the altercation. The victim received non-life-threatening injuries.
Police arrested 40-year-old Miles Lasas the next day at a home on Waterhen Lake First Nation and they issued a warrant for Dylan Lasas. The two, both from Waterhen Lake First Nation, were charged with discharging a firearm with intent and assault with a weapon.
Following the assault, Meadow Lake RCMP Police Dog Services and North Battleford RCMP General Investigation Section raided a home on Waterhen Lake First Nation where officers seized 2.4 kilograms of cocaine, illicit oxycodone, three rifles, a large quantity of ammunition, and stolen property.
Miles Lasas was granted bail on Sept. 14. He is back in court on Nov. 24 to enter an election and plea.
Dylan Lasas was remanded in custody after his appearance Thursday and he is back in court on Oct. 24 for a bail hearing.
