ESTEVAN - Members of the Estevan Police Service responded to 47 calls for service from April 11-13.
Officers assisted the Estevan Fire and Rescue Service with a vehicle fire on a residential property in south Estevan on April 11. No injuries were reported.
The EPS received a report of a hit-and-run at a business in northeast Estevan. The matter is still under investigation.
Members received a call about a dog left in a vehicle for an extended period of time. The vehicle was gone when police arrived.
Police located a male wanted from another jurisdiction. He was arrested and released with a new court date.
Members attended a disturbance between two parties and mediated the situation. They were sent on their way.
The EPS was dispatched to an aggressive intoxicated female in the central area. She required medical attention and was transported to the hospital by EMS.
Officers received a report of vehicles driving erratically on the north end of the city. The vehicles were gone when police arrived.
Members located an insecure building, conducted a check for occupants and re-secured it.
Police received a complaint of a female appearing to be in distress. Police spoke with her. She was not in distress but thanked the community for their concern.
The EPS received a report of youths on the roof of a building. Members attended and located the youths. The matter remains under investigation.
Members received a report April 10 of a vehicle approaching Estevan on Highway 39 and travelling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was located and a written warning was issued as the motorist had reduced their speed prior to contact with police.
An attempted Bitcoin scam was reported. No money was lost and no personal information was provided.
Members assisted to keep the peace while an individual was asked to leave a residence where they had been temporarily staying. All parties were co-operative and nothing criminal occurred.
The EPS received a noise complaint reported as possible breaking glass in the southeast area. Members attended and determined that two individuals had been arguing at a residence and one decided to leave to stay in an outbuilding on the property.
EPS officers attended to a report April 9 of a domestic disturbance occurring in the parking lot of a north-central business. It was determined that a verbal argument had occurred but nothing criminal was involved. The matter was mediated and those involved were sent on their way.
An anonymous request was received for a well-being check on a youth who had not returned home. Upon arrival at the residence, the youth was found to be safe and well in the company of their parents.
A barking dog complaint was received during the night shift. Members attended and warned the owner under the noise bylaw.
