New trial date set for 2021 homicide in Estevan

Gurwinder Singh Toor is to stand trial in 2024 for a homicide that took place in Estevan more than two years ago.

ESTEVAN - Gurwinder Singh Toor has a new trial date in connection with a 2021 homicide case in Estevan.

Toor was supposed to have a jury trial from Oct. 23-Nov. 3 in Estevan, but it was pushed back. Now he is slated to go to trial on April 14, 2025, in Court of King's Bench in Estevan. It will be a trial by judge. 

Toor has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Angelo Galido, who was located deceased in his Estevan residence on June 7, 2021.

Toor, also of Estevan, was arrested nine days later in Calgary.

The two were known to each other.

None of the charges have been proven in court.
