Regina police charge third suspect in downtown park homicide

Continued investigation into the homicide of a Prince Albert man has led the Regina Police Service to lay charges against three individuals.

REGINA — Regina police have made an additional arrest as part of the investigation of a man found dead in a downtown park in December.

Investigation began on Dec. 16, when police and emergency services were notified of a deceased individual in Greenburg Park on Broder Street in Regina.

The victim was later identified as Harvey Beatty, 22, of Prince Albert and police declared the investigation a homicide.

In January, one man and one woman, both of Regina, were arrested in connection with Beatty’s death and charged with second degree murder.

Almost a month later, police have announced a third arrest in relation to the investigation.

A 24-year-old of man from Regina was taken into custody on Feb. 23 and is now facing charges of second degree murder under the Criminal Code.

He appeared in provincial court Thursday.
