LLOYDMINSTER - Saskatchewan RCMP has charged an a man with multiple offences in connection with an ongoing drug-trafficking investigation.
On March 10 at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers with the RCMP’s Lloydminster Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team (STRT) arrested a man during a traffic stop in Lloydminster in relation to a drug-trafficking investigation.
During a search of the vehicle and the man, officers located and seized approximately 9.2 grams of methamphetamine, 3.1 grams of fentanyl, 1.7 grams of cocaine and additional drug-trafficking paraphernalia, pepper spray, ammunition, and magazines.
Officers then executed a search warrant on a recreational vehicle in Waseca, where they located and seized further evidence.
As a result of continued investigation, a 56-year-old man, from Lloydminster, is charged with:
- one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine;
- one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine;
- one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl;
- six counts, weapons possession contrary to order and fail to surrender authorization; and
- one count, unsafe storage of ammunition.
The accused made his first appearance Provincial Court in North Battleford on March 11.
