ESTEVAN — The Estevan Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance regarding a theft of a truck reported at the end of January.
The truck was stolen sometime between the evening of Jan. 24 and the morning of Jan. 26. It was later recovered on Feb. 5 near Storthoaks, and was noted to have had several modifications done to disguise it.
Police had the vehicle returned to Estevan for further evidence collection to identify potential suspect(s). During forensic processing of the vehicle, several items were found in the truck that did not belong to the registered owner which are believed to be stolen. These items include an air compressor, a lock that had been cut and a fuel slip tank.
EPS is requesting that the public and businesses in the southeast area report any suspicious activity in or around property or buildings during this timeframe; specifically, any video surveillance of a dark Ford F350 truck or other suspicious activity where a theft may have occurred.

In other recent police news, EPS received a request for assistance in a dispute between a landlord and tenant on Feb. 13. Members mediated the situation, however, referred those involved to the Office of Residential Tenancies for additional follow-up.
A report of a fraud was received from an individual that does not reside in Estevan. They were advised to attend to their local police service, provide details regarding the fraud and have it forwarded to EPS if appropriate. The matter is still under investigation.
EPS assisted the RCMP in locating the family of a driver that was involved in a motor vehicle collision and notify them of the incident and status of their family member. The family residing in Estevan were located and notified.
A complaint of a sexual assault that occurred in Estevan was received by EPS. The matter is still under investigation.
Police received a driving complaint in relation to a vehicle driving erratically when leaving a local business parking lot. The matter is still under investigation.
EPS received a noise complaint and a report of an odour of marijuana emanating from a city core apartment building. The odour concern was referred to the landlord as it isn’t a policing issue, and the noise complaint was resolved by police.
Police charged a 47-year-old Estevan male for driving while suspended and the vehicle he was driving was impounded as a result of him being a suspended driver.
